In celebration of Truth passing her test last night, I thought we would post a devotion we wrote almost two years ago when she passed her first test… The Star Puppy Class. Can I just tell you how proud I was of Truth last night. When I, her teacher asked her to do a command and she did it. Boy was I a proud and happy teacher. You know, I bet our Teacher loves it when we do what He asks us to do! I bet HE celebrates also.
MOM!!!! What is it Truth? I’m scared. Of What? This test I have to take tonight. What if I fail? What if I can’t do it? What if I forget all I’ve learned? What if…. Truth, calm down. You are going to be okay. I will be there with you. You WILL?
Of course I will. You know I will always be there with you. You’re not going to leave me? Truth, never will I leave you! I will be there for all the test. You mean there’s going to be MORE test? Truth, let’s not worry about the other test right now, okay? Well, I guess it does make it easier to know my teacher is going to be there with me and I don’t have to take this test or the other test by myself. Truth, you know that I’m really the one that has to get you ready for the test. After all, no offense, but you are the pup. HUH??? Yes, Truth, you are the puppy and I’m the teacher.
WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! I DID IT!!! I PASSED!!!! I mean… we passed, mom! Yes, we did Truth and I’m so proud of you. Oh, but what about the next…… Truth? Don’t start again! Go celebrate! OKAY!!! I PASSED! WHEW!
Test. I hate most test. Test in school are to find out how much you know. (or don’t know) Medical test, they want to know what’s inside of you. Test. They are to find out what’s in you.
Some people really hate test that are “timed.” They feel it puts added pressure on them to do well.
That may be true, but one thing about a timed test, you know how long that test is going to last. At the end of that time, good or bad, the test is over. You may still have to deal with the results, but the testing is over.
Real life is not that way is it? You don’t know when the test or tests will end. It may seem like it will never end. Just like me with Truth, I don’t have to EVER take a test without my Teacher right beside me. HE promises to never leave me (and remember) HE IS TRUTH!
I don’t know if you are in a test or facing a test, but I do know one thing; if Jesus is you Teacher, you don’t have to do it alone. Like I said, I don’t much like test but I know they are really just helping me prepare for the next level. Just like Truth, she’s passed the first level, but we have many more to go. But in the end…. it’s gonna be good!!!!
because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish it’s work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
